The Board of Commissioners of IHEC discussed in a meeting which was attended by an International Support Team for the elections, the scheduled start date for the election campaigns for candidates and political entities. In light of the operational schedule, and in order to give sufficient opportunity for candidates to publicize their campaigns for the voters, the Board of Commissioners has decided that the time for the start date of the election campaign will be February 7^th, 2010.

 A source at IHEC indicated that the determined date came after a thorough examination of all the technical aspects and merits of the subject.
